Mike's View of Inkheart.

I really liked the book. It was well written and the story was excellent. Now for a book to screen adaptatin it was really bad considering they changed a large amount of the book.

As for the movie itself, I really liked it. It was a lot of fun and of course it had Brendan Fraser. So the quirkiness came along with it. It was fun and to be perfectly honest the Shadow (the ultimate bad guy) kinda scared me a little bit. Both Brendan Fraser and Helen Mirren did an amazing job. I wish they had more of an intimidating actor to play Basta, He kind of looked like the guy who played Snidley in Dudley Doo Right. (funny another brendan fraser movie) And i mean he just wasnt that intimidating. In the book he is made out to be this big bad guy and everyone cowers when they see him *for the most part* Maybe Timothy Olyphant could have done it or hell, Jeremy Irons, Why Not.. except I think he might be to old now. Other than that I really liked the movie. Seperate the book and film and they are really enjoyable. If you sit there and compare all the details from the book to the movie then its kinda dissapointing.

I recomend to go see it. It got some really bad reviews but why is that everyone has to sit there through any film and think it is going to be work of art. Its fun, and the story is good just sit there and enjoy the movie.

The infamous Adventure...

So our plans did change a little, instead of seeing two movies we only saw one. Can you guess which on we chose. Inkheart of course. It had a higher priority than My Bloody Valentine 3D.

Our day started with meeting for lunch at 12. We went over to the Kensington Pub.It is pretty much my favorite place ever!!! We had their poutine and steak tidbits which shockingly enough were REALLY good. Just little pieces of Sirloin on garlic toast with a tomatoe slice and some sort of sauce that they put in a dish that comes with it. NUMMY!

Then we made our way to crowfoot which is a little ways away from where i live. We first brought andrew a crave cupcake because well, why not. They are soo damned good. Not that he needs it.

We went and bought our tickets for Inkheart, we had a few adventures on the way. Jess calls them attempts to kill her. I admit there were some steep parts but mainly it was ok.

OOOOHHH and the best part. We were coming out of the bank and went to cross the street but we didnt see a crosswalk. So we went to the sidewalk and waited for traffic to go by and have a clear opening for us to cross. All of a sudden the first set of cars that came by stopped for us and we were like.... ummm, ok. Then jess looked over and there was a crosswalk sign. HAH!. We crossed at a crosswalk and didnt realize till we were actually on the street. LOL!

*that was a major highlight*

We meandored our way to safeway grabbed some junk food and then off to the movies!

So the Adventure continues...

So we have and adventure planned! *woo woo*

We both have the day of next week and we are gonna make our way down south to see My Bloody Valentine 3D, go for some ribs and then see INKHEART!!!!!!!

Its a day and its gonna be awesome. Man you would think we would get tired of movies anytime soon, but no. Our lives kinda evolve around them. I mean we wait for long time for some movies to be released. I mean i waited like a year and a half in anticipation for the Dark Knight. (i am pretty sure I am not the only one but *mike)

Teeth

Well,

Teeth is about the urban myth called "dentata" Its about how the vagina has a set of teeth that when she is put in danger they go in to action. Its about how this girl is on discovering herself in more ways then one and through a series of events and misfortunes she learns who she is.

I thought it was funny. I mean i could watch it again, its new material and I give them credit for that so i must say.

Igor

Igor, the new animated Film featuring John Cusack, Molly Shannon, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi and Sean Hayes.

It was really cute, I didn't mind it. I would watch it again. It was a kids movie definatley. There are some funny moments like when the blind orphans are singing "I Can See Clearly Now" Now thats classic.

The movie is about Igor and how the evil scientist he works for never wins the evil science fair and Igor has this dream of being and evil scientist and hence creates life. In hopes of winning the science fair things awry and his evil monster really isnt so evil. With some comedy between steve buscemi the rabbit who can't die but has a death wish and sean hayes who plays a brain in a jar, it really is entertaining.

Definatly give it a go.

Repo! The Genetic Opera

I watched this movie the other day and man was I in for a surprise.

The basis of the movie is this company started a payment program for organs if you needed an organ transplant.

If you miss a payment on your organ, well the send the Repo man to reposess your organs. Even if you have only missed one payment.

This movie is a Musical. Its rather Operatic if you must describe it.

I was really shocked with Paris Hilton's character in the movie because she came on the screen and I was all like... " Is that paris hilton.. HOLY SH*T it is" She did a rather good job, That and her face falls of at some point in the movie. Its kinda funny.

Make It Happen

Make it Happen is this Dance Movie that comes out on Tuesday.

WELL!

You know how almost all dance movies have really bad acting and well dont really have a great story. But you watch it for the dancing because the dancing is really cool.
WELL NOT THIS MOVIE.

The music was only ok, the dancing (how very little there was) wasnt that good. And really there wasnt that much dancing. GAH!

Dont watch it. Its not that good.
